Team BioMark E. Colgan, Sensei 6th Degree Black Belt Chief Instructor Mark Colgan is a 6th degree Black Belt and holds Black Belt rank in multiple Martial Arts systems. He was educated as an engineer, but instead chose to work with children and adults on bettering their lives. Before committing himself to teaching full time, Sensei Colgan worked for many years as a successful and sought-after multi-unit restaurant manager. He began his martial arts training 40 years ago, and has taught full-time for past 20 years. He was the Founder and Executive Director of a multi-state non-profit Martial Arts program, dedicated to saving disadvantaged and at-risk youth from the lures of gang activity and drug abuse. His tournament record includes multiple State, Regional, National and World Championship Titles. In addition, Sensei has trained and produced over 60 National and World Karate Champions.

World Class Martial Arts Competition is coming to Central Oregon and is proudly hosted by Victory Martial Arts - Traditional Okinawan Karate School, located on Bend's west-side. Victory Martial Arts, the USKA Oregon State Representative school, is proud to present the 1st Annual USKA Oregon State Martial Arts Championships to be held on October 19, 2013 at Cascade Middle School right here in beautiful Bend, Oregon! This prestigious event will be professionally run and organized and is going to be assisted by high ranking Black Belt Judges from at least 5 states. It is a maximum point + 5 USKA sanctioned tournament and, therefore, is also a qualifier for the 2014 USKA National Championships to be held in Las Vegas in March 2014. As with every USKA event, the Oregon State Martial Arts Championships are open to competitors of all ages, ranks and martial arts styles. Pre-registration for the tournament is available online at or via U.S. mail. All Pre-registered competitors will receive discounted registration fees, plus, preferential bracketing in both weapons and forms divisions! The deadline for pre-registration is October 12, 2013. There will be an exciting opening ceremony for all of the schools in attendance and their competitors; as well as commemorative tournament t-shirts available for sale. Additionally there will be awesome prizes raffled off, with all proceeds to benefit youth Ski Team athletes from MBSEF (Mount Bachelor Sports Education Foundation) a quality non-profit organization established in 1986 and dedicated to the development and support of alpine, cross country and snowboard race training and competition in Central Oregon.
