PhilosophyWe expect our players to be 100% committed. Our goal is to compete at the highest levels in our sport and maximize exposure of our players to college coaches for possible scholarships. Players must constantly work to earn and keep their position on the team.
Team Bio The Slammers Baseball Club is a non-profit baseball organization dedicated to the development of young scholar athletes. The Slammers work diligently to prepare players for high school and beyond. As the Slammer organization rapidly approaches its second decade, the landscape of high school and travel base/softball continues to evolve. What has started in the South (LA County) has now moved up north (Bay Area) as high schools eliminate freshman programs, while being overwhelmed with quality players. The Slammer organization has now implemented our LTE (LONG TERM EVOLUTION) program which is designed for the long term evolution of our players and program as we continue to focus on quality instruction and playing time as opposed to plastic trophies won by ringers. Going forward, our program will be divided by grade. The lower/younger division (8th grade and below) and our upper/older program (high school students). Our goal is to provide players a place to play from age 9 to 18 with the intent to get exposure to the college recruiting scene. Effective immediately, we are sending a team from the lower division to the USSSA equivalent of Cooperstown in Omaha each and every year. This team is available for all qualified lower division players. Our upper division program now will offer the following: Attendance at least one premier summer tournament – This year we will be travelling to Huntington Beach for the 20th Annual USA Premier Firecracker showcase (16u, 17u, and 18u). Individual interviews with player and parent to develop a customized development program to help facilitate playing in college. Recruiting video of 40 minutes of video edited down to 3 minutes. This will be outsourced to Comcast Sports and produced locally. Contact information for the players’ top 10 collegiate choices Profile development and email templates. One on one coaching on how to handle a campus tour. GUARANTEED play in front of 20 collegiate coaches, with a personal evaluation from one of the coaches. We are committed to providing the best development and instruction for every player based upon their individual aspirations, goals, and academic interest. All players who are interested should schedule their interview as soon as possible. To begin the process, visit our website and request an evaluation.
